The Polis Plus Magnifying Mirror was used throughout the 5th floor refurbishment of the bedrooms and bathrooms of this well known formerly Thistle hotel on the banks of the River Thames adjacent to the Tower of London. This 3x magnification mirror is illuminated with a compact flourescent lamp. The advantages of this specification is very long lamp life reducing maintenance costs and a low running temperature which is more comfortable to touch. Models that use other lamps can run at a much higher temperature, and although certified as acceptable, operators prefer a 'safer' option ruling out any risk of hot metal parts.
